Projects
Publication, Le futur Parc Deschênes : priorités vers un plan directeur
Alliance Parc Deschênes has published in August 2025 a document summarizing the importance of the natural and historical heritage of the future Deschênes Park and identifying a series of management objectives for the park based on respect for the environment and the promotion of sustainable recreational and educational uses.
Deschênes Corridor
Project proposal to ensure protection for the Deschênes Corridor (also known as the Aylmer Corridor).
In October 2024, the Alliance Parc Deschênes, in conjunction with the Fondation Forêt Boucher, applied, in response to the Quebec government's call for projects for protected areas in southern public territory, to propose that the entire Deschênes Corridor be identified as a biodiversity reserve. The Deschênes Corridor covers an area of 195 hectares and is bordered to the south by the Ottawa River and to the north by Gatineau Park. It provides ecological connectivity between the Deschênes Forest, Boucher Forest Park and Gatineau Park, as well as the Ottawa River.
Eco-forestry survey
DPA is conducting a survey of the forest habitats with a view to quantifying ecosystem services provided by the future park.
Wetlands mapping
A detailed map of Lamoureux Marsh is being prepared to allow us to quantify changes observed in this fragile ecosystem.
