Park in the Making

The future Deschênes Park consists of all the green spaces between the Deschênes Rapids and Fraser Road, including Conroy Island, with a total area of approximately 36 ha.  Communities of Deschênes, Glenwood, Grands châteaux and Wychwood border the park, which is situated in Aylmer sector of the City of Gatineau.

 The site of Deschênes park is part of the traditional unceded territory of the Anishinaabe nation and was used as campground, gathering site and a place for exchanges between nations.
